When designing the logo for Crave Bistro, I wanted to capture the essence of their identity as a bold, chef-driven establishment rooted in craftsmanship. The name “Crave” evokes desire and indulgence, so I chose a sharp, elegant serif font to create a feeling of sophistication while still remaining approachable. To reinforce the restaurant’s emphasis on scratch-made food and a curated whiskey and wine experience, I incorporated a chef's knife and a bistro-style pointed utensil directly into the word “Bistro.” The knife replaces the stem of the “B” and the pointed utensil forms the “O,” turning the text itself into a visual metaphor for the culinary experience.
Every element of the logo was thoughtfully chosen to reflect the brand’s atmosphere—refined yet grounded, with a bit of edge. The typography has a hand-hewn, slightly medieval feel, which ties into the artisanal and “from-scratch” ethos of the kitchen. The balanced use of black-and-white ensures versatility across signage, menus, merchandise, and digital platforms. By grounding the logo with the phrase “Wine • Scratch Kitchen • Whiskey” and anchoring it with “Amesbury Massachusetts,” I created a strong regional identity while emphasizing the bistro’s commitment to quality and community. This logo tells a story before a single dish is served.
